We’ve been watching the Council Web site for road works and have been staggered at how many road closures there are across the Wight. Hopefully this means that we’ll see some improvements to the roads over the coming months and that the closures are not just for utility companies carrying out works.
This one might be useful for anyone in the South heading North.
Niton Road will be closed between Appleford Road (Leechmore Cross junction) and Southford Lane for carriageway repairs and resurfacing works by Isle of Wight Council.
The road closure is due to be in operation between 9.30am on MONDAY 14 July and 5pm on Friday 1 August 2008.
DIVERSION ROUTE: Niton Road, A3020 Main Road (Rookley) and Newport Road (Rookley and Godshill), West Street, Whitwell Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road and Newport Road.
