More travel woes for Red Jet passengers with revised timetable

Red Jet passengers are encountering more disruption to the service whilst Red Jet 7 is out of service for its annual refit, after Red Jet 4 suffered a failure yesterday (Monday).

Removed from service
Leanna Lakes, Operations Director at Red Funnel, said,

“On Monday, Red Jet 4 was removed from service after high pressure alarms were activated on the starboard engine. To provide certainty for passengers making travel arrangements this week, we will be extending our reduced timetable.
“During this period, our specialist marine contractors and engineers will be undertaking a full investigation, working hard to resolve the issue. We will continue to keep passengers updated as the investigation works progress.
“Red Jet 7 is currently undergoing an annual refit and is due to return to service on the 23rd February.”

Plan ahead by checking the live departures
Leanna went on to say,

“We encourage customers to plan ahead by checking the live departures on our website, clicking on the ‘Service Status’ link to check their desired departure time.
“Customers may also consider using our vehicle ferries as an alternative option, which are currently running to timetable, although we remind customers that we are operating out of our temporary berth (Berth 25) in Southampton.
“We are continuing to offer a shuttle service between Southampton Terminal 1 and Berth 25. For more information see here: www.redfunnel.co.uk/januaryworks
“We apologise for any difficulties this may have caused to customer journeys and are working towards resuming our normal timetable as quickly and as safely as possible.”
