As I was driving through Carisbrooke on my way home at 3.20pm (Wednesday) a motorcyclist came off his bike outside the Co-op. I didn’t see exactly what happened, though it looked as if he might have been clipped by a van.
By the time I’d got out of my car, he was already being tended to in the road by other passers-by who had already phoned 999.
Amazing how many off-duty nurses were on the scene, and very reassuring to see the public’s swift and sensible response in an emergency.
I hope the man is okay (thankfully he appeared fully conscious, but was hurt).
There was a petrol spill from the bike on the Co-op side of Carisbrooke High Street; hopefully that will be mopped up quickly so traffic isn’t delayed for long.
