Naturezones Wildlife Field Study Centre in Blackwater is excited to announce that once again it will be holding an Isle of Wight nature photography competition. Following the success of last year’s event (winning photos above), the Centre is eager to continue promoting local wildlife and photography talent.
Last year’s competition raised £525, which funded the creation of a beautiful calendar showcasing the winning photographs. This year, the Centre hopes to build on that success with even greater community involvement and support.
Seeking sponsors for 2025 calendar
To bring this year’s vision to life, Naturezones is seeking sponsors to either cover prizes or sponsor individual pages of the 2025 calendar. Each page sponsorship costs £25, and the calendar will feature the twelve most voted-for photographs from the competition.
The Centre is appealing for financial support to cover the printing costs of the calendar or contributions in the form of vouchers for prizes. In return, sponsors will have their name and logo featured on all publicity materials and the published calendar.
How to get involved
Angela Hewitt from Naturezones is coordinating the sponsorship efforts. She is encouraging local businesses and individuals to get involved and support this initiative. Those interested in sponsoring or providing support can contact Angela directly at [email protected].
Emphasising the impact that community backing has on the success of the competition and the resulting calendar, she says,
“We would be hugely grateful if you could offer your support for this project.”
Building on community success
By sponsoring a page or contributing towards prizes, supporters not only help promote local wildlife, but also gain visibility through the calendar’s wide distribution.
The calendar serves as a testament to the Island’s rich biodiversity and the community’s commitment to preserving it.
Angela Hewitt looks forward to hearing from potential sponsors and supporters to make this year’s competition another success.
See the Naturezones website for more information about the Centre.
Red squirrel day
Don’t forget that Naturezones will be hosting a day dedicated to native red squirrels this Sunday (16th June).
