The new pedestrian walkway on Ryde Pier has been closed whilst work is carried out to the new Ryde interchange hub.
The walkway links the Pier Head with the Esplanade and was opened in June 2023, but closed just one week later.
Wightlink say the closure, which will be in place until 10th December, is required while work is carried out to the Ryde travel interchange.
Pedestrians are asked to use the the road pier in the meantime – although trains are now operating to the end of the Pier.
FastCat service not affected
A spokesperson for Wightlink told News OnTheWight,
“Wightlink’s pedestrian walkway on Ryde Pier will be closed until Sunday 10th December because of work to connect it to the new transport hub on the Esplanade.
“The FastCat service will not be affected and pedestrians will be asked to use the pathway along the road pier during this time.
“Wightlink apologies for any inconvenience to customers.”
