Confusion reigned outside the Post Office in Newport on Monday morning when customers were left wondering what time it would open for business.
As our Twitter followers will have seen last week, the Newport Post Office was due to be closed part of Saturday and Monday morning (thanks to a tip-off from @wightcat).
Due to Post Office Ltd taking the business back on again, an audit was taking place.
Customers were notified of the Saturday closure by means of a notice posted on the door.
Unfortunately, for those left wanting to use the Post Office on Monday, the re-opening time hadn’t been included on the notice.
In the very cold weather, many elderly customers stood in line on Monday morning for the Post Office to open, which it finally did at 1pm.
