The BBC have produced a really handy postcode tool for you to find out how winter pressures, combined with Covid, are having an impact on your local NHS provision.
News OnTheWight take a look below at data for Isle of Wight NHS Trust.
Ambulance queues
During the week 17th to 23rd January 2022, only one per cent of patients (290 arrivals) had to wait more than 30 minutes to be handed over to A&E staff.
Two years ago there were 262 arrivals in the same week, but zero per cent had to wait more than 30 minutes to be handed over to A&E staff.
The England average is 18 per cent.
A&E waits
In December 2021, 30 per cent of patients (4,643 attendances) had to wait longer than four hours.
That compares to 25 per cent two years ago (5,033 attendances).
The England average is 27 per cent.
Hospital bed waits
The area where we know there are issues, is patients without a bed on a ward within four hours of being admitted.
As News OnTheWight reported earlier this month, there were 62 patients are medically fit to leave hospital, but have no care in place to be safely discharged.
In December, of the 1,023 emergency admissions, 62 per cent were without a bed on a ward within four hours of being admitted. That compares to the England average of 32 per cent.
Two years ago, the figure for the Island was 81 per cent of 801 emergency admissions.
Covid patients in hospital
The Covid dashboard shows that as of 25th January 2022 there were 24 patients being treated for Covid-19 at St Mary’s hospital.
The Government dashboard reports that none of these patients are relying on mechanical ventilation.
