Thanks to Helen for details of this fundraising event taking place on Friday. Ed
This Friday, 4th September, beautiful NorthCourt Manor House in Shorwell will open its doors to the public for a concert of string chamber music.
Starting at 8pm, the Tagore String Trio will be presenting a varied programme of string music from the unfairly neglected string trio repertoire as well as duos, including music by Parry, Mozart’s friend, Eybler, and Beethoven’s ‘Eyeglass Duet’.
Violin, cello and viola
Frances Mason, violin, and James Halsey, cello, will be joined by international viola player, Brian Schiele, and will entertain with insightful introductions as well as uplifting music.
This year the concert will be supporting Ghanalink (IW) which is funding the setting up of a school for children with special needs in Tamale, Ghana.
Both St. Catherine’s School and St. Catherine’s Church in Ventnor are actively involved in this venture, to offer this education opportunity which is not currently available in Ghana, and the new school is also called St. Catherine’s!
