Staff at Little Acres Childcare Centre in Newport are celebrating after receiving a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted, following a visit in May 2024.
The early years provider was awarded an overall rating of ‘Good’, which included ‘Outstanding’ for behaviour and attitudes. The quality of education, personal development and leadership and management were all considered ‘Good’ by the inspector.
Highlights from the report include:
- Staff are excellent role models, and support children’s positive behaviour exceptionally well.
- Children thrive with the care they receive from the professional, kind and dedicated staff.
- Staff promote children’s communication and language remarkably well.
- Staff implement initiatives that equip children with the tools to help them understand different emotions they are experiencing.
Arnell: We are absolutely over the moon with this outcome
Kim Arnell, who heads up Little Acres Childcare Centre, told News OnTheWight,
“We are excited to be able to share our recent first OFSTED inspection since taking over ownership at the end of 2021.
“Overall we obtained a good rating with outstanding for children’s attitudes and behaviour. We are absolutely over the moon with this outcome.”

“We are incredibly proud of all of our staff who work tirelessly everyday to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children and their families.
