From this morning, Monday 7th March, drivers who use Lake Hill will be affected by a four-week temporary one-way restriction, as WightFibre continue to install their network across the Island.
Between its junctions with The Fairway and Broadway in a westerly direction, Lake Hill will be affected by the one-way restriction until 6.30pm on Friday 8th April, or when the works have been completed.
The restriction on the busy thoroughfare is required to protect the safety of WightFibre workers.
Island Roads say an alternative route will be sign posted locally.
Bus network affected
On the Southern Vectis network, routes 2, 3, 8, 62 ,68, 71 and 72, are all affected.
Southern Vectis say,
Lake Hill is now one-way until 18:30 on Friday 8th April. During this closure, routes 2, 3, 8, 62, 68, 71 & 72 buses heading towards Sandown will not be able to serve The Fairway stop at the bottom of Lake Hill or The Heights stop.
Your nearest stops will be Lake Shops, Pemberley Court (on The Fairway) or Melville Street.
Buses heading from Sandown towards Lake are not affected and will operate the normal route.
