Anyone who recently saw Jhelisa Anderson perform at Quay Arts, may be interested in a film coming up next month at Quay Arts.
Back in early 2005, film director Markus Bader and DJ and INFRACom! Label manager Jan Hagenkoetter made a trip out to New Orleans to observe and film Jhelisa her as she worked on her forthcoming album.
In this wonderful documentary, and through a personal and critical perspective, Jhelisa presents the diversity of New Orleans, a city often referred to as “The most unique city in America”, due in part to its architecture, music, amazing food and the world famous, Mardi Gras.
“One week with Jhelisa – Rediscovering America” has become a rare and precious testimony of the sunken musical capital of New Orleans.
As a bonus, alongside the film will be a selection of digital shorts and don’t forget that you can enjoy a drink from the bar whilst watching the film.
