The CP are running a story on their front page today about how Osborne House appear to be doing a u-turn on the name change announced earlier last month.
On 10th March, English Heritage announced that they’d be changing the name of Osborne House to Royal Osborne, stating at the time, “We hope that the people on the Isle of Wight will be delighted with the new name and will celebrate this royal association.”
Massive u-turn
However, they now say that “It was never our intention to rename Osborne House as Royal Osborne and we apologise if in our wish to communicate the importance of Osborne House, we have caused any confusion or offence.”
They go on to say that they are now consulting with the Cabinet Office over the measures to “remedy any confusion caused”.
Confusion or offence, hmmm now let me think?
