There is certainly lots going on today across the Isle of Wight to keep you occupied.
Showcasing local food
Kicking off at 10am, the Cowes Food Show returns to the Fountain Yard to highlight the very best in local Isle of Wight produce, from organically grown tomatoes and oak smoked garlic, to freshly baked artisan bread and delicious dairy ice cream.
There’ll be showcasing talented local chefs and home-cooking experts through their interactive food theatre and this Spring show also features a great choice of flowers and plants, ideal for spring planting.
Bright new artistic talent
After that at Quay Arts in Newport, Pedlars at the Quay return once again with this excellent selection of the brightest and most inspiring artist talent from the Island.
The organisers Anna and Pia, lovingly handpick all the Makers each season to offer up an eclectic and fresh array of work to the various Pedlars customers who step through our door.
Learn more about being eco- and ethically friendly
Back up in the north in East Cowes, the Sustainability Roadshow returns to the Town Hall from 11am to bring together businesses and organisations that deal with products and services that are eco-friendly, fair trade, hand made and ethical.
There are masses of workshops, walks, talks etc taking place throughout the day, with Keith Taylor, our MEP giving at talk at 12.15pm in the Town Hall.
Guerilla gardeners celebrate first year
Just around the corner at the former Frank James hospital a Birthday Celebration will be taking place.
You don’t need to put down work, but if you would like to plant a tree you can, as they have several to be planted! FatSamba has offered to come and drum us all in between noon and 1pm, so that will hopefully bring people together!
Quality Island music to help bring Lottie home
Rounding off the day of our recommended things to do is to head to Ventnor seafront for this charity event.
Red Squirrel presents Plastic Mermaids and others performing in aid of the Lottie Rann Trust at The Boathouse (Spyglass Inn) in Ventnor.
It’s free to get in, with donations to the Lottie Rann Trust.
