The works will be undertaken at night in order to reduce disruption to road users. In addition, the schedule has also been devised to take into account the popular electric woods evening events held at Robin Hill throughout October and early November.
Seven weekday nights
The work is expected to take a total of seven weekday nights starting on 7th October. As part of the scheme, the busy Robin Hill Roundabout will be resurfaced with work anticipated to take three nights and commencing after 10pm.
Work between the roundabout and Arreton Manor will follow and will take place between the hours of 7.30pm and 6am.
Venues remain open
In planning the schedule, Island Roads has consulted both the Hare and Hounds pub and Robin Hill itself. Island Roads is keen to stress that both Robin Hill and the Hare and Hounds remain open and accessible during the work.
A fully signed diversion will be in place during the seven-night scheme details for which will also be available on our Website.
Minimising disruption
Project engineer Derek Benfield said:
“We have timed the works to take place out of the main summer season and the autumn half-term holiday and there are also later start times in order to minimise disruption to road users generally and also to those attending the electric woods event.”
James Crofts, Manager of Robin Hill said:
“These road improvements are required and we appreciate the efforts Island Roads has taken to minimise disruption during the short period of time they will be working in the vicinity.
“We would like to assure visitors that we will be fully accessible during the work and we are looking forward to another hugely successful electric woods Festival of Lights event between 1st October and 5th November.”
