If you haven’t been to see the current exhibition in the Rope Store Gallery at Quay Arts yet, you have just two weeks to catch it.
With a painting career spanning over 60 years, Peter Wright is one of the Isle of Wight’s best known artists.
Coinciding with his 80th Birthday, this exhibition celebrates the breadth of his work over the last 12 years.
Wright Retrospective
Working in oils, Wright’s distinctive style is intensely bold and vivid. Taking inspiration from the land and the sea, he celebrates and at times, documents the landscape through various locations in Britain, France and the Greek Islands.
Containing strong graphic compositions and thickly applied paint, colours are contrasted through defined edges and emphasised lines, gesturing towards a more minimalist route.
The exhibition runs until 14th April and is open daily (exc. Sundays) between 9.30-4pm.
