Phase two of Newport Retirement Park set to offer more housing options for over 45s

Phase two of a retirement park on the outskirts of Newport by Asda could be coming soon.

Plans have been submitted to the Isle of Wight council by Luxury Retirement Living to add a further 16 park homes to the site near Pan Lane.

Park homes are high-quality static caravans.

Permission granted for phase one
The site was previously used for equestrian purposes, but in September this year permission was granted for the first phase of development.

Work has now started to install ten park homes, but a further 16 one and two-bed homes could be added if plans are approved.

Access remains the same
The extension to the park would be accessed through the same junction approved for the first phase of the plan off Burnt House Lane.

The development would be for people aged 45 and over, with hopes to provide much-needed housing for the Island’s ageing population.

The public consultation runs until 18th January.
