It might’ve been half term, but there were no half measures last week. There were so many gigs on the Island, it was hard to keep up. If you went along to any and fancy sharing your experience with our readers, get in touch through the contact form.
Saturday night saw another fantastic memorial gig for Island legend, Dan Damage. Judging by the pics flying around MySpace, everyone had a great time. Joining in the fun were several of the zombies, who gathered in Ryde Town Square just before the gig on Saturday night and then stumbled around Ryde. More to come on that later today on VB.
Last week was sadly the last Progression Session until next year. Born in a Barn and Ambush Tactics finished off the season of local live music at Ryde Theatre and we hear they went down a storm. We’ll keep you up to date with any news of when the next season starts.
If you weren’t able to make it along to the Gordon Giltrap or Staff Brett and Tali Trow gigs a couple of weeks ago, we have a couple of short reviews for you.
Big news from the IW Council last week was Steve Matthews, former council’s head of engineering services on the Undercliff Drive scheme getting the chop. Purchasing Manager, John Spencer was given a final written warning rather than the old heave ho, because although he was corporate purchasing manager at the time, he was not directly responsible for the procurement of services from High-Point Rendel.
Further reports from the investigation are due out in November and we’ll keep you posted on the outcome.
