The Isle of Wight council planning committee will be considering the Flowersbrook onshore elements of the Perpetuus Tidal Energy Centre on Tuesday next week.
Almost 300 comments were received from members of the public on the application with the local town council planning committee objecting for a number of reasons.
During the first consultation the Council received 184 letters of objection and two letters of support, 68 objections and five letters of support during the second consultation and 29 letters of objection and two letters of support during the final consultation.
Conditional permission
Officers are recommending a split decision, granting conditional outline planning permission for options 2, 2a and 2b, but refusing planning permission for option 1.
