West Wight Sports Centre’s half term activities will keep all ages fit, healthy and having fun. There’s activities for youngsters from pre-school age right up to teenagers.
Mini-movers
Mini-movers in the sports hall is on Wednesday and Friday morning and is for pre-school children and their parents – with lots of fun, colour, games, toys as well as an introduction to trampolining – and in the pool there’s special parent and child swim sessions on Thursday.
Play pirates on our special rafts
For the slightly older children there are swimming lessons or a chance to learn to snorkel or have fun on the specially built rafts and play pirates.
Football and swimming for pre-teens
For school years 6 – 8 there’s a football session on Monday morning, with a free swim after.
Teenagers can sign up for the Poolside Helper course which runs all day on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. This course is essential to gaining a first step to employment in the leisure industry.
Range of other activities
The sports hall is available to hire every day and there are special rates in half term – £4.20 for one court (play badminton, short tennis, table tennis or basketball) or £10.50 for the whole hall (play football, basketball, or volleyball).
The pools are open very day as well with a Fun Hour every morning 1100 – 1200.
