Several readers have been in touch to let us know about a Police and Coastguard search that is taking place around the Ventnor beach area this morning.
Police have confirmed to OnTheWight that the search is a precautionary measure only, as some children’s clothing and an inflatable toy was found on the beach earlier.
They also confirm that they’ve received no reports of any missing children.
The Coastguard were already in the air on a training exercise, so have incorporated a search of the area.
We’ll let you know if we hear more.
