Today (Thursday 5th May) sees the elections take place for Police and Crime Commissioners across the country.
Those registered to vote should have received their poll cards by now. If you don’t have one you can still vote, just pop along to the nearest polling station with some proof of ID.
The seven candidates standing in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight PCC Election are (in alphabetical order):

- Don Jerrard (Independent) from East Hampshire (stood in the last election)
- Michael Lane (Conservative) from Gosport (see his Website)
- Robin Price (Labour) from Seaview (Profile on IW Labour)
- Roy Swales (UKIP) from the New Forest (see his Twitter account – currently locked)
- Steve Watts (Portsmouth) Zero Tolerance Policing ex Chief (See his election Website)
The count will be taking place on the Isle of Wight on Friday morning. A result from across the Isle of Wight and Hampshire is expected later in the day.
