At 3.54pm yesterday afternoon (Monday 26th October), 77 year old John Rhodes from Sandown, was driving a grey Mercedes A160 from St Helen’s towards Brading on the B3330 Carpenters Road.
Police tell us that as he approached Rowborough corner, Mr Rhodes’ car slowed and veered off the road, where a wing mirror collided with a hedge before stopping.
Although the emergency services were at the scene where Mr Rhodes was pronounced dead. It’s thought that perhaps he suffered a medical episode when driving.
