Police are appealing for the victim of a suspected assault on the Isle of Wight to come forward.
A woman was taking part in a ghost walk along Sea Street in Newport when it’s alleged she was struck in the face by a firework thrown by someone in a passing car.

The injury was reported by another member of the public a short time later at 8.46pm on Wednesday, September 22, 2010.
However, the victim has not yet contacted the police about what happened and the effects on her.
Investigating officer PC David Hardie of the Isle of Wight Targeted Patrol teams (TPT) said: “Police treat all allegations of this nature seriously. A number of officers and police staff are using various techniques to follow several promising lines of enquiry that may identify the offender responsible. It is important we speak with the woman affected to help establish further crucial details about the circumstances surrounding this case. It is possible she has now left the island so I’m appealing for this woman or anyone who knows her to contact police. We are eager to bring this offender to justice and demonstrate that this type of anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated on the island.”
