Three people suffered minor injuries last night as a Police car and a Toyota collided on the Military Road.
The driver of the Toyota, which was travelling east on the Military Road, was an elderly woman who was taken to hospital for minor injuries following the incident.
From the photo, you can see that the Police Volvo came to rest straddling Chine Lane and the Military Road. Two Police officers were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
VB have been told by those on the scene that the Police were armed.
Fourth incident at that spot in six months
We’re told that this is the fourth road traffic incident in the last six months on that particular stretch of road.
Many crashes
Many have commented that the number of road traffic incidents across the Isle of Wight over the last couple of months seems to have increased substantially, with barely a day seeming to go by without a report of another road traffic incident.

Update 13.08.12: A marked police Volvo was travelling along Military Road, Ventnor just before 7.10pm when it was in collision with a Toyota Yaris.
The driver of the Yaris, an 80-year-old woman from the Niton area, was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment to a fractured clavicle.
Both police officers inside the marked vehicle sustained whiplash injuries. All three were treated at hospital but have since been discharged.
An investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the collision is ongoing.
