The CP are reporting that an investigation into the murder of a woman thought to be from the Isle of Wight has been launched in Newcastle.
They say that the woman, named as Heather Arthur, was found dead in her home yesterday (Monday) and that a 49-year-old man, apparently known to her, has been been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Newcastle Area Command Chief Superintendent Gary Calvert told the CP, “Northumbria Police is in the very early stages of this investigation.
“It appears at this stage that the individuals involved were known to each other and that there is no cause for wider community concern.”
