Searches have been carried out in areas where the 54-year-old has been sighted or where it’s believed he could be.
These include Newport, Godshill, Ventnor and the Newport to Cowes cycle path.
We have received a lot of good information from the appeal so far and would like to thank everyone who has contacted us.
We are continuing to appeal for information from anyone who knows where Virgil is or may have seen someone matching his description.
In particular officers would like to speak again to the person who believes they saw Mr Balmer on Sunday (February 22) in Godshill.
