Police seek public’s help to identify suspect in Ocean Hotel arson incidents

Officers investigating a recent series of arsons at the Ocean Hotel in Sandown have made another arrest.

Yesterday (Tuesday 3rd September) a 20-year-old man from Sandown was arrested on suspicion of arson. He remains in custody at this time.

Police previously arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of arson and he remains on conditional bail until 18th November.

Following up every line of enquiry
The investigation into these arson incidents continues, and the South Wight Neighbourhoods Policing Team are following up every line of enquiry.

Police also continue to patrol the area, and are working with local partners to resolve issues regarding the site, its security and the associated anti-social behaviour and criminality.
