Pop ‘n’ Grow was set up by Paula Smith and Alison Wright and is now a fully registered charity.
Starting off by supplying the NICU at St Mary’s hospital on the Isle of Wight, Pop n Grow has gone on to supply their unique babygrows and vests to hospitals such as Guys & St Thomas’ in London, Alderhay Children’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street and Southampton to mention only a few, all at the hospital’s direct request.
They have supplied over 1,000 babygrows, hundreds of their incubator vests and now even supply clothing to any child in need of medical tubes, lines and wires for free to under 16s.
Paula tells us that this includes clothing for accommodate feeding tubes, chest drains, cancer treatments, dialysis, heart surgery or surgery of any kind all free of charge. They’ve even have requests from as far as Germany, South Australia, Prague, Switzerland and the USA.
A celebration
A family fun day takes place on 7th October at Rookley Country Park to celebrate the work of the charity and will see the release of over 50 doves with former NICU children all taking part.
You may have heard Paula on Radio Solent this morning talking about the charity and she tells us that she’ll be on South Today tonight too.
Congratulations to Paula and Alison, your acheivement is fantastic to see and, we’re sure, an inspiration to others.
