Isle of Wight NHS Trust is proud to share that four of its Community Nurses have been given the prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse by The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI).
The Community Nurses are:
- Charlotte Bexon-Stone, Quality Matron- Community
- Jackie Balloch, District Nurse team Lead – Northeast
- Peter Scholes, Parkinson’s Nurse Specialist
- Sarah Kearney, Respiratory Nurse Specialist
Committed to delivering and leading outstanding care
This is a real achievement and means that we now have a total of eighteen island nurses who have received the Queen’s Nurse (QN) title.
The QN title isn’t an award for past service or a qualification, it is a formal recognition that you are part of a professional network of nurses committed to delivering and leading outstanding care in the community.
Bexon-Stone: An honour and a privilege
Charlotte Bexon-Stone, Quality Matron – Community, said,
“Receiving the Queen’s Nurse title is not only an honour, but a privilege and something that I am incredibly proud of.
“I look forward to networking with likeminded individuals, sharing experiences and enhancing the lives of patients in our island community.”
Balloch: Delighted and honoured
Jackie Balloch, District Nurse Team Leader, added,
“I am delighted and honoured to have been awarded the title of Queen’s Nurse, it’s a great privilege and I’m looking forward to networking with others across the country to share experiences and to support each other.”
Oldman: Network committed to learning, leadership, and providing excellent care
Dr Crystal Oldman CBE, Chief Executive of the QNI, said,
“Congratulations to all those nurses who have received the title of Queen’s Nurse.
“You join a wonderful, supportive national network of nurses committed to learning, leadership, and providing excellent care for the people they serve. We look forward to working with you.”
