We’ve been meaning to run this for a couple of weeks now, so apologies to Mark for the delay. Ed
Quarr Abbey is pleased to announce that there new Website is now ‘live’.
As well as giving information on all the visitor aspects of Quarr, the site also gives detailed information on elements of a world that are rarely seen by the general public.
Find out about the life of a monk
The section on monastic life is particularly interesting, and includes a detailed account on the day in the life of a monk, and the steps required to become a monk.
There is also an excellent section on the history of both the current abbey, and on the ruins of the original abbey that can still be visited within the grounds of Quarr.
“It has been a priviledge and a fascinating experience working with the monks of Quarr to produce this website”, says Kevin Barton of the Island’s media design company, Deep Design. “I think the site opens up a small window on a world that has been closed for hundreds of years.”
Where is it?
