As the reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) controversy continues across the country, here on the Isle of Wight there is more positive news.
Back at the end of August the Isle of Wight council confirmed that no school buildings which they are responsible for on the Island are affected. They did advise that a small area of the roof at The Heights leisure centre contains RAAC and is being ‘appropriately monitored’.
Good news from the NHS
Last Tuesday, News OnTheWight asked the Isle of Wight NHS Trust whether any of their buildings contained RAAC.
Today (Monday) an Isle of Wight NHS Trust spokesperson told News OnTheWight,
“We have followed national guidelines and thoroughly reviewed our estate and we have not identified any RAAC.”
