Long time VB readers will know what huge fans we are of Isle of Wight artist, Rachael Berry.
We first met Rachael about six years ago after having seen her work in an open exhibition at Quay Arts and at the iCandi events.
So we’re absolutely chuffed to see that one of Rachael’s hyper-realistic paintings made it into the top 1% of 35,000 submissions to a global art competition.
Exhibiting on giant LED screen
The result? Her work (this piece, called Lottie) is being shown on a 9x12ft LED screen in Times Square, NYC as part of Art Takes Times Square.
This is a fantastic acheivement and thoroughly deserved. Well done Rachael!
Media attention
There’s been a lot of media interest in the project, including this video below from US TV channel ABC7 which gives more detail about the project and the overall winner, Vicki Dasilva.
