This Friday, the Isle’s psychedelic scarecrows The Shutes will herald the coming of summer with a ‘massively toned down, spacey gig’ at the Buddle Inn, Niton, supported by retro-rockers The Golden Strands.
The free event spells a return of the band’s sixties-spirited Radieux ‘happenings’ at home, following a whirlwind tour of Germany.
Never seen The Shutes?
There’s little to dislike in Michael Champion’s spaced-out riffs with a wave of bop-rock that dives into dreamland.
Support act The Golden Strands should hold their own, too, with echoes of the sixties cute and thunderous.
An accompanying soundtrack will include Beach House, Spacemen 3, Animal Collective, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Santa Spirita, Beck, Arcade Fire and, apparently, “loads of other good shiz”, commencing at 7pm approximately.
