The Met Office have updated the severe weather warnings for heavy rain and strong winds.
Also watch out for high tide due at around 5.30pm today.
Heavy Rain
Valid from 1500 on Wednesday until 0800 on Thursday 15 Jan 2015
A deepening area of low pressure is expected to move northeast passing close to the extreme northwest of Scotland on Thursday. A spell of heavy rainfall is expected across many parts of western and southern England and Wales in association with this system, lasting from Wednesday afternoon until Thursday morning, after which clearer, colder weather is expected to spread southeast.
The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to travel due to standing water and spray as well as localised flooding.
Strong winds
Valid from 1700 on Wednesday to 0600 on Thursday 15 Jan 2015
Gales or severe gales are expected to develop across much of England and Wales for a time tonight. Inland gusts may locally exceed 60 mph close to the squally cold front, whilst gusts of 60 to 70 mph seem likely at coastal sites in the south and west, as well as across hills. Gusts may exceed 75 mph in the more exposed coastal locations.
The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to transport and possibly power supplies.
