Police confirm they are investigating a report of a sexual offence that took place in Sandown over the weekend.
They are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a 21 year old woman, which took place on Sandown beach at around 3am on Sunday morning.
An area of the beach off Culver Parade was cordoned off yesterday.
An update from police is expected later today.

Police say they are no longer investigating the alleged rape, the reason given was because of insufficient evidence.
