Who remembers the Chicago Rock Cafe?
If you do and want to re-live the heady nights of the 80s and 90s make your way to this ‘Party Night’ with Wham/George Michael tribute, featuring Shadow of George with ex-Chicago Rock DJs Kev Walker, Martyn Bully Bull and Alan Barrett later this month.
The event will be fundraising for the Martin Poynter Trust, set up following the sad death of firefighter and community champion, Martin Poynter.
The organiser of the event, Nigel Smith of Bagel Wrap in Ryde, said,
“I ran Chicago for many years and the Firemen used to use it as their local. It’s great to bring back the feeling of the place for one night and use that to raise money for one of their own.
“We’ve laid on three of the old DJs who know how to get people dancing. It should be a great night.”

The Chicago Rock Cafe Party Night takes place on Saturday 28th May, at the Balcony Bars, Ryde.
Tickets are £8 in advance, or £10 on the door.
