The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance have joined forces with Bag It Up Ltd to help raise much needed cash and awareness for the vital service provided by the air ambulance.
Keeping the air ambulance in service costs a whopping £3000 day, so you can understand that fund-raisers at the charity have a very busy task on their hands.
The latest initiative to raise cash is a sponsored cycle around the Island. Don’t worry you won’t be expected to cycle the entire Wight, there are a choice of two routes one of 15 miles and another for the fitter amongst us, of 50 miles.
As an added incentive (and this is a massive one in the VB office), if you manage to raise more than £50 you’ll automatically be entered in a competition to win a flight in a helicopter with one to one tuition. How cool would that be!
The start of the route is at Tesco in Ryde where the Air Ambulance will be. Whilst the crew are on standby you can chat to them and look around the helicopter.
