Red Jet Commuter Remembered Onboard

The week before Christmas a very special memorial plaque was unveiled onboard Red Jet 4.

RedJet Commuter Remembered Through Memorial PlaqueCarole Anne Miles, who passed away earlier in the year had, with her husband Michael, been visiting the Island since 1982 prior to settling here in 2007 and used the Red Jet daily commuting across the Solent.

After she passed away, her husband got in touch with Red Funnel to see if they would consider displaying a plaque aboard Red Jet 4 which was Carole’s favourite vessel.

Michael Miles comments “It makes me feel very proud to know that this memorial to Carole is onboard for all to see. Carole loved catching the quarter to seven jet in the morning and enjoyed the camaraderie onboard with the crew and other passengers. Displaying the plaque is a fantastic gesture from Red Funnel for which I am very grateful.”

Mark Thomson, Marine Manager “When we were approached by Michael with the idea of displaying a plaque, we thought that it would be a lovely tribute to one of our loyal commuters and were more than happy to accommodate his request. We’re very pleased with Michael’s reaction to seeing the plaque and hope that others who see the memorial will feel equally moved”.
