Second class stamps

Regular postage stamps need to be used by January 2023. Here’s why

If like us, you often have a stash of postage stamps squirrelled away ready for use, take note of this change coming up.

The Royal Mail are adding barcodes to their regular stamps (ie not picture stamps) meaning that after 31st January 2023, regular stamps without a barcode won’t be valid for use.

Use them or swap them
With Christmas coming up, it’s possible you might be able to use all your non-barcoded stamps up in time, but if you find yourself with an excess of non-barcoded stamps by the end of January, all is not lost.

Download a form from the Royal Mail Website and you can send off your non-barcoded stamps (by Freepost) to the Royal Mail and they’ll swap them for you.
