As this was the first time this event has been held, the Ventnor Carnival Committee were overwhelmed by the interest shown by competitors.
In all, eight teams took part in the relay race from Ventnor to Bonchurch and back again, running just under a mile at 1.24km.
The winning team were the Ventnor Boxing Club who picked up three prizes.
They were followed by the Ventnor Rugby Club in second place and the Ryde Harriers Men in third place.
There were other prizes awarded on the night as follows

Fastest Male Team – Ventnor Boxing Club
Fatest Female Team – Ryde Harriers Women
Fastest Sports Team – Ventnor Boxing Club
Fastest Pub Team – Ale and Oyster
Fastest Under 16s Team – IW Junior Sports Team
Wooden Spoon – Ryde Harriers Women
