OnTheWight have had several readers get in touch about the lack of salting of Green Lane, Shanklin.
As you can see from the photo sent in by Danielle Parker-Meadows, the road is covered in snow and looks quite icy.
She says, “As you can see Isle of Wight council have done a great job treating Green Lane…NOT!”.
Whilst another reader, Sandra Campbell, told us, “Green Lane needs salting but the council doesn’t class it as a main road, even though it’s a main route, buses have even stopped using it.
“It’s about time they did something.”
As we reported earlier today, school buses 407 and 331 were unable to serve Green Lane due to road conditions. We’ll ask the council whether there are any plans to salt Green Lane today and let you know what we hear back.
