To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), the Isle of Wight RNLI Lifeboat Board has launched a photography competition.
This unique contest celebrates the coasts and seas surrounding the Isle of Wight, with an emphasis on their beauty and importance to safety at sea.
The competition, under the theme “Island Seas – Safety and Splendour,” seeks to showcase the natural beauty and maritime safety facilitated by the RNLI over the years.
A call for creative entries
Photography enthusiasts of all ages are invited to submit their entries by 31st July 2024.
Participants are encouraged to capture the essence of the Isle of Wight’s coastal and maritime environment through their lenses.
Each entrant may submit up to three digital images, ensuring each file does not exceed 10Mb.
Categories for all ages
The competition is divided into three age-based categories: under 13 years, 13 to 17 years, and 18 years and over.
This inclusive approach aims to engage photographers from various age groups, allowing a broad spectrum of perspectives on the Island’s seascape.
For participants under the age of 18, the submission process includes providing the age of the entrant and the contact details of a parent or carer, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for young photographers.
