Once again, organisers of Cowes Week have chosen the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) as their official charity for Cowes Week.
This is the second year running that Cowes Week have shown their support for the RNLI who provide a vital service to the sailing community.
The money raised during the week long regatta which takes place 31 July to 7 August will go directly towards the lifeboat stations supporting the Island at Bembridge, Cowes and Yarmouth.
The RNLI’s Director of Fundraising and Communication, David Brann, said: “The RNLI is proud to be the official charity of Cowes Week 2010. We welcome the chance to engage directly with the sailing community in Cowes and hope to encourage regular financial support for the charity that saves lives at sea through RNLI membership.
“We hope our week-long programme of fundraising activity in and around Cowes Parade and the Yacht Haven will help raise money to safeguard the RNLI’s rescue service in and around the Solent while also providing some fun and entertainment for all visitors to the regatta.”
