If you’re planning to drive from Ventnor to Shanklin along Leeson Road this week, beware of road closures.
Due to carriageway repair works on Bonchurch Road between Cowleaze Hill and Leeson Road (Smugglers Haven) access along that route will be confined to residences and businesses only.
This also means that the Route 3 bus will be diverted this week.
The usual Route 3 buses from Ryde or Newport will not be running through Ventnor or Wroxall and we understand that instead a shuttle bus will run from Somerfield in Shanklin to Ventnor and Whiteley Bank.
The shuttle buses will follow the normal timetable in both directions and around Ventnor will serve as far as Trinity Church stop.
We’re told by SV that the drivers will be looking out for customers and will let you on and off where it is safe to do so.
Closure: 9am Tuesday 15th until around 5pm Friday 18th September
