Many thanks to VB reader, Seb, for letting us know about a new series of programmes starting tonight on Radio 3.
Island genius, Robert Hooke, will be featured every night this week from 11pm on Radio 3.
If you’ve no idea what he did or what his achievements were, you clearly weren’t paying attention in your physics class (admittedly, like me).
Freshwater born Hooke developed the microscope, spring pocket watch, a marine barometer, the universal joint (which is still used in cars today), was an architect and even an astronomer.
