Looks like one of VB’s biggest fans (joke), Cllr Roger Mazillius, is about to join the Isle of Wight Council Cabinet.
Council leader David Pugh will be taking a delegated decision to increase the number of members on the Cabinet later this month in order to shift some of the responsibilities around.
It follows a change in the Senior Management Structure which came into effect at the beginning of the year and it’s hoped that the additional Cabinet member would mean the responsibilities of Cabinet members would be more closely aligned with this new management structure.
The decision will also mean that there will now be (including David Pugh) eight members on the Cabinet with responsibilities as follows:
- Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for the Economy, Tourism, Leisure & Planning – Councillor George Brown
- Cabinet Member for Children’s Services – Councillor Dawn Cousins
- Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care & Housing – Councillor Roger Mazillius
- Cabinet Member for Fire & Community Safety – Councillor Barry Abraham
- Cabinet Member for Environment & Transport – Councillor Edward Giles
- Cabinet Member for Resources – Councillor Peter Bingham
- Cabinet Member for Major Projects, Performance & Communications – Councillor Tim Hunter-Henderson
The May Cabinet meeting has been cancelled and the next meeting takes place on 1st June at 6pm.
