Despite all tens of thousands of people who must have sore arms from carrying heavy tents, etc to and from the Festival last weekend, we reckon Charlie Head and Brad Symington are probably suffering more than anyone else.
Why? Well if you remember, we mentioned last Friday that they’d be spending their Saturday stand up paddle boarding around the Island.
How far did they get?
We got in touch with them yesterday to find out how they’d got on and heard that last Saturday’s attempt ended up being just a practice run, after the boat driver arrived late (tut tut), the lads missed the tide to get all the way round.
Determined to still have a go and treat it as a practice run, they managed to paddle for six and a half hours, covering 40km, taking them from Bembridge to Brook. Quite a feat!
Same time, same place
They say that all things being good, they’ll attempt the challenge again this coming Saturday.
Mind you, that might not be quite such a good idea, with 1,750+ yachts passing in the opposite direction for the JP Morgan Round the Island Race.
Check out this video to see them working their way around the Island.
