News reaches us that a fundraising rowing marathon is being planned for Saturday 4th October.
Yet to be fully confirmed, it is hoped that a team from the Newport Rowing Club will be battling against a team of Newport firemen in a simulated row around the Island, using rowing machines
We understand that they will need to cover about 90,000 metres.
It will be taking place in St Thomas’ Square in Newport and the purpose of the row-athon is to raise raising money for the diagnosis, treatment and care of Isle of Wight cancer and leukaemia patients.
Pop it in your diary and we’ll confirm exact time nearer the date.
