VB reader Sam Cleare got in touch last night, mentioning that a serious incident had happened at Stanley’s bar in Ryde.
This morning, Police confirmed that they were called to Union Street, shortly before 10.15pm last night.
A 23-year-old man from Ryde, was arrested on suspicion of using threatening words or behaviour towards a 37-year-old man from Newport.
Man charged today
The suspect was taken to Newport Police Station and questioned. He was charged this afternoon (Monday, October 17, 2011) under section four of the Public Order Act 1986.
The 23 year old was due to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court today (Monday, October 17, 2011).
