This weekend sees The Sailing For Heroes Regatta Weekend come to Yarmouth.
The three day event, which is bursting with things for the family to do, has been created to raise money for forces charity Help For Heroes and the inspirational tri-service initiative Toe In The Water, which uses competitive sailing to re-inspire and re-engage injured service personnel.
As well as the two days of racing on the water with Inter-service military boats (including Toe In The Water yachts) battling out against civilian boats, on land there’ll be military themed displays.
The kids will be kept occupied with Hero The Bear’s Teddy Bear picnic on Sunday not to mention a fantastic line-up of local singers, musicians and marching bands, who are all giving their time time to the event free of charge.
All the events on the Green are free of charge to the public, but please dig deep for the collection buckets. We hear that the raffle has a chance to win a 5-star hotel break with flights to Malta, as well as many plus other great prizes.
